Can a Telecaster sound like a Stratocaster?
No, not exactly, but it can get close. The electronic circuitry plus the bridge-mounted bridge pickup in the Telecaster are the first two reasons why a Stratocaster can only mimic a Telecaster’s sound, but never sound just like one.
Do Telecasters and Stratocasters sound different?

Should I get a HSS Strat standard?
A mentor of mine recommended that i get an HSS Strat Standard. But after listening to many many demos i have to say i was less than impressed. I felt many of the demos the HSS seemed muddy and only seemed to excel vs SSS in heavy distortion . Anything below heavy distortion seemed to be C+ B- quality which is playable of course.
What’s the difference between a HB and a Strat?
One of the coolest things about a Strat is the crisp sizzle of the attack (Knopfler!). You lose that with hb’s, I think, because there is less treble information in the sound.. HB’s benefit from the density of sound and sustain you get with a set neck solid body, as with an LP, particularly when distortion is happening.
Is HSS better than SSS for heavy overdrive?
3bolt79, systolsys and Handsome McClane like this. I was thinking that HSS only does some what of a half way which is better than an SSS in heavy overdrive but sacrifices in the clean tones. I was thikning it might just be better to get an SSS and Then one day buy a les paul or just make do with PRS for heavy overdrive.
