How does a Spirotherm work?

Consisting of woven copper wire soldered to a copper tube, the patented Spirotube® creates a low velocity area in the Spirovent that scrubs the bubbles from the water. The air bubbles rise and collect in the air chamber before they are vented from the system via an integral automatic valve.

What does a Spirovent do?

SpiroVent microbubble deaerators remove the microbubbles and circulating air left behind by automatic air vents, or after bleeding valves. Automatic air vents and bleeding valves cannot remove microbubbles or circulating air.

How do you bleed a Spirovent?

Turn off the circulation pump. Let the water settle a few minutes to allow the air to settle up to the top of each radiator. Then bleed the lowest radiator in the house up to the highest.

How do you clean a Spirovent?

2. To clean the vent head, use a mild detergent and water or vinegar and water solution. For extremely dirty conditions, soak the head in mineral spirits for several hours and then clean thoroughly. The vent head is available as a replacement part if necessary.

Why is my Spirovent leaking?

Usually when this happens the expansion tank is in the wrong location and the temporary pressure imbalance when the pump turns off causes the head to flood and the stream of water. If the head needed cleaned the Spirovent would drip and have no bearing on what the pump is doing.

Is a Spirovent directional?

The flow may be directed to either side of the unit. There is NO directional arrow. Either connection may be used for inlet or outlet.

Where does a Spirovent go?

The Spirovent Air Eliminator should be installed at the point of lowest solubility in the system: that being where the temperature is the highest (i.e. after the boiler and/or heat exchanger or before the chiller) and the pressure is the lowest (i.e. before the pump suction), as pictured in Figures 1 and 2 below.

What is a spirovent® air eliminator?

The Spirovent® Air Eliminators, using our patented Spirotube® coalescing medium, “scrub” the air from the system fluid and allows it to break free in a low velocity, low turbulence removal chamber.

How does spirovent work?

By removing the presence of all air, SpiroVent also prevents dirt formation and related negative effects on energy efficiency, failure sensitivity and wear and tear. Also available in stainless steel for high temperature and/or high-pressure system environments

Why choose spirovent air deaerators?

SpiroVent Air deaerators are preferably positioned at the hottest point of the installation, the point where the water leaves the heater or where the water enters the cooler. Our experts have developed a whole range of high-quality products to ensure that your heating & cooling system works as efficiëntly as possible.
