Where are stahlwerk welders made?
As a well-known manufacturer of welding machines and plasma cutters , Shenzhen Stahlwerk Welding Technology Co., Ltd. is recognized as a high-tech enterprise specialized in manufacturing and sales of inverter welding equipment since 2008 in Shenzhen.
Can you turn a TIG welder into a plasma cutter?
Yes you can actually do some decent metal cutting with a tig machine on certain types of thin sheet metal. ..but NO… it wont be as good as a plasma cutter. I have found that the more amperage used the faster and better the cut….but 200 amps will work ok too if thats all you have.
When would you use a pulsed TIG?
Pulse TIG welding is most commonly used to weld thin sections of stainless steel, non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, magnesium and copper alloys.

Are Stamos welders any good?
This welder is very well made, and very competent, but the biggest difficulty is the extremely poor instruction manual and the inflated specs. I chose this welder because of the German heritage, and the blurb from the Stamos site that their products are built to their exacting standards.
Can a tig torch cut metal?
A tig torch can be used to cut metal, but it is not as good as a plasma torch. cutting metal wih a tig torch requires a small tig cup, more argon flow, and a larger electrode and more amps than welding.
Can I use a tig welder without gas?
Simply put, NO, you can’t Tig weld without Gas! Gas is required to protect both the Tungsten Electrode and the weld pool from Oxygen. Most Tig Welder torches are also cooled by the gas, so not using gas would risk burning out the Torch. You might also find my article Can you use the same Gas for Mig and Tig useful.
Is Pulse TIG better?
Pulse for TIG is all about improving your control when you don’t want to burn through your metal work piece. Using the pedal or setting up the pulse will moderate the heat as you weld and ensure you have enough heat present at the joint without laying a ton of filler metal into the joint or burning through the metal.
